It not only provides a stage for us to express ourselves, but also paves the way for our personal growth and career planning.”

Four years of development to facilitate the construction of a prestigious international cultural city

The Golden Hibiscus Music Competition was launched in 2017 as part of the Chengdu Municipal Government’s efforts to discover music talents, encourage musical creativity and create an influential international music event in China. Since its inception, the competition has been successfully held for four years, attracting nearly 6,000 contestants from countries and regions such as the U.S., Russia, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao. Nearly 100 outstanding talents and bands, such as Chen Honglu, Yao Jialin, Liu Bangyi, Li Weihao, Chen Yuqiu, Cheap Bones, and the Levi, emerged from the competition, accompanied by approximately 100 original and fine pieces such as That Winter, BAE BAE 9Goodnight Lugu Lake, and Wild Grass.

At the same time, the competition is open to key music colleges and universities and major music labels at home and abroad, which significantly enhances the internationalization and professionalism of the contestants. With the participation of renowned experts and professors from music schools such as Liao Changyong, He Zhanhao, Dan Zhaoyi and Lan Tianyang, the event has established its credibility in all aspects, further contributing to the construction of an international city of music and energizing the construction of an international cultural city.

It is reported that the Golden Hibiscus Music Competition will be followed by six lectures, in which renowned experts, professors and artists will be invited to share their artistic insights with the contestants and students from art colleges and universities in Chengdu.
