Wisconsin Agile & Scrum Practitioners User Group Announces Upcoming Meeting Facilitated by Rich Butkevic, PMP, CSM

September 12
16:21 2019

Rich Butkevic, PMP, CSM, who administrates the Scrum Alliance Wisconsin Agile & Scrum Practitioners User Group, will facilitate a meeting for current and prospective group members on September 19, 2019.

In addition to open discussions, the meeting will provide an overview of how project managers can take advantage of automation tools such as Ansible to improve the effectiveness of their teams, deliver projects more successfully, and improve forecasts. During the session Rich Butkevic will present an overview of the topic based the recently published article titled “A Project Manager’s Guide to Ansible”: https://opensource.com/article/19/8/project-managers-guide-ansible

Rich Butkevic states: “The first thing that comes to mind when most people hear about automation is the potential for accelerating IT delivery. That is certainly an area that automation can have tremendous impact, but it can also be put to very effective use by project managers and within a corporate PMO. A benefit of automation is obviously increased speed, but just as important – and arguably more important to a project manager – is the impact it has on predictability. When processes or tasks are automated, they are not only completed quickly, they are completed in precisely the same way each and every time so there is no variance in the results. Every single time a task is undertaken in an automated way, the output and time to delivery is known to a high degree of precision, and that is critical to project management. Open source tools such as Ansible puts automation within reach of anyone who invests the time in it.“

The meeting will take place on September 19, 2019 at 5:30 PM at the Lone Girl Brewing Company at 114 E Main Street in Waunakee, WI. The Wisconsin Agile & Scrum Practitioners User Group is free to join, and all members are welcome.
